Hi Everyone,
The last time we wrote to you we were at our half way point on the US tour. Since then we finished up the tour and currently we are settled back into life in Ireland. It’s always nice to have clean clothes after 5 weeks on the road!! 🙂
We were delighted to have met so many friends that we made on last years tour and we also were delighted to have made new friends along the way. We have had over 400+ subscribers to our newsletters so thats a good indication of all the new people we met on our travels. We would also like to say a massive thank you to Matt Griffin who filled in for James on tour. He was brilliant and a ball of fun. No better man to tell a one liner joke or a story. Every gig he was spontaneous and added his own style and twist to the music.
For those who didn’t see us while we were touring, we ran a competition on tour to see who was the loudest, nosiest and wildest crowds during our set Peggy’s. We challenged the crowd to be inventive and come up with a way of being wild and most importantly different to the other crowds. At the start of the tour crowds roared and screamed there heads off when the music started. Some of things that happened was dancing up the aisles, swinging chairs around, whistling clapping and constant cheering for 5 minutes solid, womans nickers being thrown at us, jumpers, scarfs and all sorts of clothes being swung in the air, conga lines, “New Mexican waves” and loads of other wild things.
There is to many venues to mention but we have to mention these 6 venues and we have them in no particular order!!
Old White Church Concert Series, Tuftonborough, New Hampshire
Kitty Hoynes, Syracuse, Newyork
Wilde Auditorium, Hartford, Connecticut
Ellsworth, Maine
Clovis, New Mexico
Evanstown, Wyoming
We can’t wait to head back to America in August to have some more madness at La Crosse Irish festival and Milwaukee Irish Festival. Until then we have some fun things lined up at home.
Last Friday we had a joint gig with the brilliant Beoga in Derry. We had James “Barvey” Harvey back with us and it was a lot of fun to have the five of us take to the stage again! This weekend we have a corporate gig in Dublin where we get to entertainment ministers from all over Europe at an EU presidency dinner. (Very fancy!!) The 20th we are in Kerry for a gig in St Johns Theatre and the following weekend on the 26th we are in Aines hometown to perform in the Spirit Store,Dundalk. As always details are on our website and facebook page! So loads of things happening in Ireland over the next while and we also have a trip or two to France and Italy on the cards for the summer to look forward to.
We are getting together for a few days in May and June to put some new material together. We have apartments booked to hang out without any tv or internet and just jam and play music. We might even have some of that material on show during the summer. You never know 🙂
We are looking into getting more T-Shirts printed and adding them to the website since we sold out of them again on tour! So keep an eye out for more details on that too.
Thats all the news for the moment so please keep in touch with us via facebook! Any photos/videos or news please share with us!
Keep in touch,
Mucho Love,
Goitse x
