Hi Everyone,
We can’t believe its summer time already and that festival season has started. This time last year we played one of the most amazing gigs of our lives at Glastonbury and it has got us excited about all the upcoming summer festivals we will be performing this summer.
For those who have not been following us on Facebook you might have missed the news that James Harvey our Banjo player has decided to take a step back from gigging and concentrate on his teaching career. We are delighted to welcome Alan Reid into the band who is an amazing banjo player and multi instrumentalist. Alan had his first two gigs with us at Fete de la Musique festival in Paris on Wednesday at Blas international summer school on Thursday.
We recently released a brand new music video for the track “Hills of Sweet Lislea” from our newest album Inspired by Chance. We are grateful that Milwaukee Irish festival premiered it first on Facebook for us. The song is about the letter a solider writes to his loved one back home during World War One. Peter Clyne our videographer did an amazing job on it and captured some breath taking visuals. You can check out the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTNn6855JDg&app=desktop
About a month ago, the very popular country star Derek Ryan asked us would we be interested in collaborating for a new single he was releasing. We spent some time sending ideas back and fourth and then met to record with the wonderful sound engineer and producer Ryan Owens in Granard, Longford. The single was released yesterday and instantly went to no1 on the iTunes Country charts. We have been chuffed with the feedback and we really had a lot of fun working on mixing traditional music with country music. You can check out the single “Heaven Tonight” here: https://www.facebook.com/DerekRyanMusic/videos/1742749689076166/?hc_ref=PAGES_TIMELINE
Thats a catch up on most of our news! We hope to see you at a gig somewhere soon. For the latest gig information check out our website www.goitse.ie as always.
Mucho Love,
