Hi Everyone,
We have just returned from another special tour in the US. It was our third US tour in the space of year and we are loving each experience more than the last. It was really nice to meet so many new people along the road but equally as nice to meet so many friends again that we met last year on our travels.
We got to perform at Peoria, Kansas City and Michigan Irish festivals for the second year in a row and WOW they all know how to have a good time. We also got to enjoy visits to St Louis and Nahma to meet some really close friends of the bands in “Doug Dowd” and Charley and Laurie MacIntosh. Colm got to party for his Birthday in style as we joined forces with the Runa crowd for a double bill in Beaver Island. Aine, Tadhg and Colm went on a “Boodle” for his birthday. Look at our pictures on facebook to try and understand what a “Boodle” is.
The crowds were so receptive and really made us feel part of the community every where we went. From the tour, we have lots of great stories but we think Tadhgs two embarrassing stories from Kansas city top the poll. Both events involve sports. Lets just say he wasn’t the best at Basketball and also managed to badly hurt himself in an incident with a Golf Cart! I think we will have some inspiration for a third album after those funny moments. We will let you in on more of the story when he is over the trauma of the events! Last year it was Colm and his “Bust Togs” that gave us an idea for our newest album “Transformed”.
Speaking of that album, we got a few new reviews of the album. One of the reviews was by the well respected Journalist Alex Monaghan of Folkworld magazine. You can read his and more reviews in full on our website but here is one line from it that we are very proud of. “Definitely a 2012 Top Ten album!” It means a lot to us that our music is held in such high esteem.
Next up in the tour diary is a trip to Galway tomorrow and then onto Belfast Saturday. In October we will be headlining a festival in Germany (See website for details) and we have a few other venues in the pipe line so keep up to date with whats going on through our website and facebook page.
Oh and keep on the look out for a new promo video which will be online soon. When its out please share and let us know your feedback!
Talk soon,
